Shriver’s Cleverness I Walked with Heroes

        Being clever can at times save you from situations and scenarios where danger seems inevitable. And for soldiers in the militia, cleverness is perhaps their biggest weapon, maybe even bogger than the ones that they carry on their shoulders. The author Jerry Guzzetta in his book I Walked with Heroes explains the cleverness, and the presence of mind that was shown by Shriver to ensure a safe return from the enemy’s den. The segment opens up with Shriver leading the troops in a mission. The clever man always carried an old Montagnard with him, this helped him navigate many of the enemy’s places with ease as someone local from their land would come up to save them. The cleverness of Shriver was visible when he started throwing rocks in the time when nothing can be seen, and his group of six men was walking deep into the enemy’s area.
