Blue’s Grace in I Walked with Heroes

At every stage in your life, you’ll come across people with intriguing personalities, and striking appearances, immediately attracting you towards them, and pushing you to befriend them. One such incident, and a story of an inseparable friendship is covered in the book I Walked with Heroes by the author Jerry A. Guzzetta. The author perfectly describes their friendship to be unbreakable, as they saw some of the deadliest times together. The story delves deep into their companionship.

Despite being physically different to the author, Albert Blue became his sight to seek inspiration, and later a great comrade. Blue was a tall, strongly built individual, while Guzzetta was short and a bit lighter than him, the striking differences in their physical appearances didn’t make them apart though as the author explains further. The two quickly became friends and developed great understanding for each other, They began their journey together at the Command and Control Central (CCC), where they also interacted with the Staff Sergeant James Zumbrun, who died shortly afterwards. The friendship between the two grew quickly as they shared a two-man living space in the war-zone and accompanied each other all the time, discussing their lives, and sharing the stage in the military operation. Blue was described to be a strongly built man in the story by the author in comparison to him, and the general perception of a rigid, strong man is that he doesn’t have fun. Contrary to that, the author explains that Blue was a guy with great sense of humor, and a great taste in music, and was often found playing guitar and singing around. Their time in the days also included numerous encounters that were filled with humor and joy, when the two encountered the rat “Mumford”, that escaped all their traps.

This part of the story not only counts on the realities of a wars, but also depicts that one can befriend anyone stronger, sharper, and more humorous than himself in the most dangerous circumstances such as a war. If you’re looking to know more about the friendship of the two gentlemen, and the whole story of the American Heroes at war, dive in the book I Walked with Heroes written by the author Jerry A. Guzzetta. The book is readily available for readers from all across the globe on Amazon and Goodreads!
